The Bentley Mulsanne has made its public premiere at the Frankfurt Internationale Automobile-Asstellung. It is a thoroughly modern statement of luxury driving and grand touring; an engineering masterpiece. A car with the ability to shift seamlessly from cosseting luxury to sporting dynamism.

The brief for the Mulsanne was to create a grand new Bentley that would stand as the pinnacle of British motoring. To achieve this ambitious goal, we had to do far more than simply evolve an existing model.

Today, many car manufacturers share platforms or produce parts in a wide range of locations. Bentley is different. The Mulsanne is as new under the skin as it is on the surface. It’s pure Bentley.

The new 6.75litre engine in the Mulsanne is a 90-degree V8. And whilst the base configuration is similar to the engineering design classic first built 50 years ago, the remarkable V8 engine is no simple ‘redesign’, but rather an all-new 505bhp engineering marvel that generates 1020Nm of torque.

The new Bentley V8 engine excels in every aspect. It produces maximum torque 1300 rpm earlier in the rev range for improved acceleration, yet is more refined, more efficient and lighter. It is a fitting tribute not only to the designers of the original V8 of 1959 but also the culmination of years of engineering excellence and technological expertise firmly rooted at the home of Bentley Motors in Crewe, England.
